In Search for that Secret Place of Strength

For individuals and couples in search of spiritual growth and "A closer walk with God".  Exploring our lives and our faith journey; looking for answers of how we can find time in our everyday busy life, for God.  Working to gain a greater understanding of the Bible in search of God's word and how to meditate and reflect on God's message for each of us, through prayer.  My hope is to provide a loving, caring and spiritual growth experience in a ChristCare environment that will help others cope and grow in their faith and live day by day in Peace with Christ.
More about Ron...

Ron and his wife Helen reside outside of Princeton, in Timber Ridge, after moving here in 2004 from Crystal Lake, IL.  They were members of First Congregational Church (FCC) in Crystal Lake for 25 years.  While at FCC, Ron enjoyed 16 years of High School Youth Ministry as a teacher, advisor and small group leader.  He completed his training as a ChristCare leader in 2003.  Their two children, Doug and Kristin, grew up in FCC and the Youth Group and are now pursuing their own careers.  Ron has also served on Christian Education Boards, the Church Council and various groups and committees.  After a 32-year career with Motorola, Ron retired in 1999 as VP of Marketing for the MultiMedia Group.  He now does some technical market consulting, but more importantly has the time to enjoy golf, landscaping, home projects, photography, reading and traveling.  Ron feels very blessed that the loving grace of the Lord reaches out with hope and care and lifts us up in response to the power of prayer.

What Makes Christians Different from the Rest of Society?

Am I the same person throughout the week, as I am on Sunday morning?
How do I find the time to do "church work", when I am already so busy?
I have lots of questions, but not many answers. My hope is to have a group of Christians (new to the faith or lifelong believers) who are willing to search with me for answers to these questions and many more.

Cindy Musselman

20’s and 30’s (age, not shoe size!)

In this small group we will be seeking God’s face and guidance in our daily lives. We will study anything that this group deems relevant and seek the scripture for guidance. I do not claim to be a Bible scholar but I do possess a deep love for our Maker, His Son and His Spirit! We will study God‘s word, pray, worship, build each other up and go into the world and make a difference for Christ! If you would like to get together with friends and have a desire to make new friends in a setting that is unlike no other, then you are just the person that God had in mind when he placed this ministry on my heart over a year ago.

Tad Smith, Diane Smith

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

                                                                                 Hebrews 10:24-25

We experienced a meaningful sense of community and enhanced spiritual growth through a small group experience when we first joined the church.  It is now our desire to create a community that builds the purposes of God deep within the hearts of every one of its members.  We will strive to do this by caring for one another; by interacting with God’s word to better understand His love and will for each of us; by worshipping and communicating with God through prayer; and finally, in response to God’s love and care, reaching out to meet the needs of people outside the group.  Following the introductory sessions, we will determine our topical interests as a group.
More about the Smiths...

Diane and Tad met at Princeton High School (where they are both still employed today), were married 21 years ago, and have lived in Princeton, raising their three children, Justin, Ethan, and Aubrey, ever since.  They have been members of ECC for six years, and have been privileged to serve their church community through participation/leadership in various commissions, the cleaning team, the adult choir, the Pastoral search committee, and Vacation Bible School.  They are kept quite busy attending various activities and events in which their children participate. When life allows for a few precious moments of free time, they enjoy vacationing with their family in Hilton Head Island, SC., attending concerts and theatre events, and dining out with friends.

Let's Grow In Christ

Let's look at God's manual and help each other to know God, to be equipped in His word, to encourage one another in love and good deeds, and to pray and to worship the Lord.  We will use ChristCare principles to show care to each other as we share and listen.  My hope is that we can be open to each other as we learn to trust each other.  In our busy lives, it takes time together and intentional planning to know true Friendship.  To begin with, we will use ChristCare materials to learn how to be a caring group and at a later time we will decide together what area we will study.
More about Bill...

Bill and his wife Jackie live even miles northwest of Princeton as Bill is a farmer and Jackie is an Occupational Therapist at Perry Memorial Hospital.  They have been members of the ECC for 16 years.  Their son Matt just got married and is working in Peoria.  Their daughter is a senior at Western Illinois University studying graphic art.  Bill has been involved with adult ministries committee and Wednesday night men's group.  When time permits Bill enjoys biking, working out, and reading.  He hopes that the group can be an opportunity to form close relationships.
